Anthropic extends $1 per user OneGov deal by a month

The OneGov extension means discounted access to Google Gemini is the only deal under the program currently set to expire at the end of this month.
Federal agencies will continue to have access to Anthropic’s Claude for $1 per user through Oct. 31 instead of Sept. 30, according to a listing on the General Services Administration’s OneGov website.
GSA and Anthropic did not immediately respond to requests for comment. FedScoop first reported news of the extension.
The prolonged savings come a week after OpenAI announced a new OneGov partnership offering agencies discounted usage-based pricing for ChatGPT, rather than a $1 per agency price tag. With OneGov extensions for Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, the only deal set to expire by the end of September is access to Google Gemini, according to the GSA website.
An agency official said in August that the agency is working on new OneGov deals and extensions with original equipment manufacturers.
“As those offers expire, GSA is renewing agreements where appropriate, ensuring continued access to critical AI tools, and delivering the best value for agencies and taxpayers,” the agency said in a release announcing the new partnership with OpenAI.
