Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum said the latest deal “will strengthen and enable robust and secure AI infrastructure across the federal government.”

The General Services Administration announced on Thursday that it reached a deal with data security firm Cohesity to offer the federal government discounted rates on some of its products.

The agreement was made as part of GSA’s OneGov initiative, which has negotiated deals with more than a dozen companies — including Tenable, Microsoft and Oracle — to provide agencies with major discounts on tech and software services by treating the government as one customer. GSA launched the effort in April 2025 and continued inking new agreements into the new year.

"Under my leadership, GSA is focused on executing President [Donald] Trump’s priorities to reduce the cost of government and centralize procurement, driving significant taxpayer savings, and equipping our federal workforce with the cutting-edge tools they need to excel,” GSA Administrator Edward C. Forst said. “GSA is central to streamlining government processes, maximizing efficiency, and empowering our public servants to better serve the American people.”

U.S. officials were quick to note the artificial intelligence-backed data protection services made available to agencies through the new agreement.

“The OneGov agreement with Cohesity will strengthen and enable robust and secure AI infrastructure across the federal government, directly supporting President Trump’s call for America to win the AI race,” Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum said in a statement. “Through this agreement, agencies can fortify cyber resilience and ensure operational continuity across hybrid and multicloud environments with secure, modern data protection tools.”

GSA said the deal provides “significant discounts on Cohesity products,” including “up to 72.25% off of certain Cohesity data protection and replication software.”

Agencies will also be able to receive 65% off of the Cohesity OneGov FedShield bundle, which provides data protection software and related services. Additionally, the deal offers a 35% discount on the company’s OneGov FedCloud bundle, which GSA said “provides data protection with recovery, replication, and backup across on-premises and cloud workloads.”

The discounted product rates are available through Sept. 30, 2027.

Although many of the OneGov agreements are temporary and have set end dates, GSA procurement officials have said they expect the initiative will lead to lasting partnerships with industry.

In a statement, Cohesity President and CEO Sanjay Poonen said “we’re honored to work with GSA to bring AI-powered data security into the hands of critical government agencies, to reduce the risk from unplanned outages, ransomware, and cyberattacks.”
