Breathtaking views of Earth shot by federal employees.

Ever wanted to see a bird's-eye view, or rather an astronaut's-eye view, of Earth? Unless you spend years training to enter space, that dream is unlikely to come true. IMAX, in partnership with NASA and the European Space Agency, is going to bring viewers the next best thing with the film A Beautiful Planet

NASA astronauts Kjell Lindgren, Terry Virts, and Barry Wilmore as well as ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti and former NASA astronaut Scott Kelly shot the footage from aboard the International Space Station. They can now add a new title to their already impressive resumes: Cinematographer.

"I grew up watching IMAX movies, particularly the space movies. To be able to be behind the camera is a phenomenal opportunity and a phenomenal experience," said Lindgren, "It was challenging though because there's a lot to think about. There's a lot of preparation and thought that goes into every shot that you take."

Hollywood Actor Jennifer Lawrence narrates the film.
