The work: Relocating operations from three military hospitals to two new facilities in 21 months.

The impact: The smooth transition to the new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland and the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital in Virginia ensured continuity of care for military personnel and their families and saved $32 million.

The nuts and bolts: Mervis played a key leadership role in the largest outfitting project in the history of the Military Health System, involving more than 3.2 million square feet of clinical space. When another party responsible for providing the communications servers for the electronic health system dropped the ball, Mervis quickly assembled a team to take over the task.
