1991 — Operation Provide Comfort: Mission to protect and provide aid to
Kurdish refugees in northern Iraq following the Persian Gulf War involving
Great Britain, France, Turkey, the United States and nine other countries.
1992-93 — Operation Restore Hope: Somalia — Humanitarian assistance involving
the United States and 24 other countries.
1995 — Operation United Shield: Assistance to withdraw U.N. peacekeeping
forces from Somalia involving the United States, Italy and six other nations.
1995-present — Bosnia-Herzegovina: NATO Stabilization Force, Albania, Argentina,
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt,

1998 — Operation Determined Force: Standing readiness plan involving more
than 250 aircraft from Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy,
the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom and
the United States.
1998 — Operation Eagle Eye: NATO verification mission in Kosovo involving
the United States, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
1999 — Operation Determined Guarantor: Readiness extraction force for verification
mission in Kosovo, including Americans. France, Germany, the Netherlands,
Italy, the United Kingdom and 10 other NATO nations under command of U.S.
Army Gen. Wesley Clark.
1999 — Operation Allied Force: 78-day air campaign in Kosovo. All 19 NATO
nations.
