CIO
Social Security Administration

Frank Baitman eagerly volunteered to serve as co-chairman of the CIO Council’s Accessibility Committee, which helps agencies comply with the legal requirement to provide access to online resources and IT for people with disabilities.

"Frank has taken a leadership role at SSA to advance the president's commitment to use technology to make government services more accessible," said federal CIO Vivek Kundra.

In addition, Baitman is modernizing SSA’s call centers under the Citizen Access Routing Enterprise through 2020 program, which will support the 80 million calls placed annually to SSA’s toll-free number. He also implemented a comprehensive software design that enhanced SSA’s website for increased interaction with the public, and he led a campaign to improve the agency's ability to engage with retirees online.
