USPS to pay $25M for network
Government Telecommunications Inc. won the deal to upgrade the network for 108 mail-processing plants.
The U.S. Postal Service has awarded a $25 million contract to Government Telecommunications Inc. to upgrade the postal agency's networks at 108 mail-processing plants.
Work under the contract will include designing, installing and testing copper cabling and fiber-optic backbones. Upgrades are to be completed by August 2005.
The new contract is for a second phase of a project that began in June 2003 with network upgrades at 62 USPS plants. Officials from the parent company, Applied Digital Solutions Inc., announced the award today.
