Is the location tracking on your phone turned on?

Facebook's messenger app is expanding, allowing users to send a map of their location to friends. The social network says it won't use this new feature to harvest your location data in the background, but you have to turn on your location of your phone for this feature to work, which still leaves you vulnerable.

Streaming app Periscope is also adding a mapping feature. The app allows you to see pinpoints of where users are streaming live around the world, but beware: If you stream from your own home, anyone can see where you live.
