Treasury gets new CIO
The Treasury Department has named its new CIO, who takes over duties from acting CIO Diane Litman and becomes the permanent replacement for Mike Duffy.
The Treasury Department has named Robyn East its new CIO, and she has already taken the reins from acting CIO Diane Litman.
Federal Computer Week confirmed with Treasury a report from Federal News Radio that East has taken the position. Litman had been acting CIO since Mike Duffy left the position to go back to the Justice Department last August.
According to Federal News Radio, Litman will return to her job as associate CIO for planning and management.
East comes to the Treasury from the University of North Carolina, where she was the deputy CIO for six years. According to a biography provided by Treasury, East “managed the daily operations of the central information technology organization and was responsible for translating organizational strategy into operational objectives and divisional goals. Other specific responsibilities included development and implementation of IT policy, negotiation of all major IT contracts, oversight of the information security program, and oversight of central IT business services.”
East also served as executive director of the administrative applications department in Information Systems and Services at George Washington University.
East began her duties as Treasury CIO on March 28.
