Rung leaving GSA for White House post
Anne Rung, GSA's associate administrator of governmentwide policy, is leaving at the end of the month to become a senior adviser at OMB.
A member of the General Services Administration's senior leadership team is set to leave at the end of May for a new job at the White House.
In a May 12 email message to staff, GSA Administrator Dan Tangherlini said Anne Rung, the agency's associate administrator of governmentwide policy, will leave at the end of the month to become a senior adviser at the Office of Management and Budget.
Tangherlini said Rung has been an integral part of the leadership team since her arrival at GSA. She was named associate administrator in June 2013 and had been the agency's chief acquisition officer since May 2012.
Before joining GSA, Rung was senior director of administration at the Commerce Department, where her work earned her an FCW Federal 100 award in 2012.
Christine Harada will replace Rung, Tangherlini said. Harada worked at Lockheed Martin, where she focused on the development and implementation of specialized programs and projects. She also worked at Booz Allen Hamilton and Boston Consulting Group as an expert on data analytics, project management, and business and operational transformation.
