FBI paves way to future IT projects with new contract
46 contractors will compete for task orders under the FBI’s eight-year, $30 billion Information Technology Supplies and Support Services contract, known as IT Triple S.
The FBI is ramping up its information technology procurement abilities with a $30 billion multiple award contract that it has awarded to 46 companies. The eight-year contract, called Information Technology Supplies and Support Services, is the largest ever that the FBI has awarded.
The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity vehicle opens the door for the FBI to procure computer technology for projects large and small. The companies who won spots on it include Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI International and recently reinstated GTSI Corp., will compete for individual and IT Triple S task orders. GTSI had been suspended from new government work but that restriction was lifted last week.
According to a GTSI announcement, the company will provide a full range of services, technical and management expertise, and solution-related enabling technologies and products to meet the worldwide mission needs of the FBI.
Without specifically referring to the recent Small Business Administration’s temporary ban preventing the company from further federal contracting, Sandra Gillespie, interim co-CEO of GTSI, called the award “a clear signal that GTSI’s well-earned reputation as a trusted partner is intact with a very important customer – the FBI.”
