FCW Insider: Shift happens

Last year, I pointed you to a YouTube video called "The Machine is Us/ing Us", which I think is still one of the better explainers about Web 2.0 and why it matters and why it can be powerful. I first saw that video down at FCW's CIO Summit last May when Chris Rasmussen, a member of the intel community's Intelipedia team, was giving a presentation about that innovative wiki and Web 2.0 generally. You can hear that presentation for yourself here. (That audio appears to not be working at the moment. I'll see it gets fixed. It's worth listening to if you haven't heard it before... Rasmussen has gone on to great things. He has been on the speaking circuit. He gave a powerful presentation down at IAC's ELC last fall, chiding attendees to move away from e-mail, which, he noted, is NOT collaborative. And he has even been recognized as a 2008 Fed 100 award winner.)

So the latest video making the rounds, which I saw recently when I was speaking to a group of General Dynamics folks, is called, "Did You Know/Shift happens." (I prefer "Shift happens.")

Sure seems like managing change is only going to be more and more of an issue as the world around us just gets more competitive... and faster.

There are two versions. The top one is more recent, but... either is worth watching.
