Air Force updates logistics system
CSC will get $108 million over five years to work on the service's Stock Control System.
Computer Sciences Corp. received an Air Force contract worth up to $108 million over the next five years to update the Stock Control System at the service's Materiel Systems Group.
CSC will provide operations and maintenance support services for the system that keeps track of 2 million goods valued at more than $40 billion in the Air Force and the Marine Corps. The services include database and system administration, enterprise resource planning transition, performance monitoring, and software development and maintenance, according to a Dec. 16 company statement.
"Having worked with the Air Force since 1985 to design, develop, implement and modernize this mission critical, 24x7 production system, CSC has the experience to help the Materiel Systems Group produce operational results," said Paul Cofoni, president of CSC's Federal Sector business unit, in the statement.
CSC personnel will perform work under the contract primarily in Fairborn, Ohio, and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The company's industry team members include Digital Concepts, Peerless Technologies and UCR LLC, said the statement.
