Former EPA IT official O'Neill lands job at CGI

Molly O'Neill, a chief information officer in an office in the Environmental Protection Agency, has accepted a job with CGI Group.

Molly O'Neill, a former assistant administrator and chief information officer of the Office of Environmental Information at the Environmental Protection Agency, accepted a job with CGI Group Inc., she confirmed today.

O’Neill will be a vice president for CGI Federal, she said. She will provide thought leadership for the government information technology world, she said. O’Neill worked at EPA during President George W. Bush’s administration.

O’Neill was a Web 2.0 proponent and helped her colleagues at EPA and elsewhere to understand how that emerging technology might apply to government.

In 2008, O'Neill also served as chairwoman of the CIO Council’s Architecture and Infrastructure Committee, where she played a role in getting agency support for the concept of developing segmented architectures.

O’Neill begins her job at CGI in the week beginning August 10, she said.
