Twitter recently announced in a blog post it would make changes to the social service that would help curb trolling and harassment on the site.

To start, the organization plans to stop the creation of new abusive accounts by identifying those previously suspended and blocking them from starting up again under a different name.

Twitter is also developing a "Safe Search," which will remove tweets containing ugly or offensive content as well as tweets from blocked or muted accounts.

In the coming weeks, the site will work on identifying and collapsing replies with abusive language so a user only sees relevant replies. Twitter users will be able to seek out these tweets if they want to, however.
