Magic Leap's virtual reality system may change computing entirely.

Immersive virtual reality, like that of Oculus Rift, can put you in a new world for a brief amount of time. But what if virtual reality became mixed reality and appeared to interact with real, solid objects in front of you?

That's what southern Florida start-up Magic Leap is working toward -- mixed reality.

"We've created a digital light-filled signal that mimics how the visual part of the world, like, really interfaces or talks to your brain," said Rony Abovitz, founder and CEO of Magic Leap.

The company has received investment from Google and Alibaba, though this system won't be available for purchase for a long time.
