*** The Office of Personnel Management released proposed updates to the general schedule qualifications policy – a follow-up to a June executive order designed to expand the use of competency assessments over educational qualifications in federal hiring. Comments from agencies are due to OPM by Nov. 30.

*** Mike Rigas, the acting Deputy Director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget and the acting director of the Office of Personnel Management is also serving as acting federal CIO. Former federal CIO Suzette Kent retired in July, 2020.
