VA to test fix to health record sharing system

The Veterans Affairs Department believes it has figured out the fix to turn the bi-directional electronic health records system back on. In February, VA discovered the bi-directional system unexpectedly merged two different patient's data when only one had been requested. VA then recreated the problem in a test environment, forcing the agency to turn off VA hospital access to DoD data.
