IT professionals affected by the economic recession will not find immediate relief in a booming employment market this year, and companies will be looking to fill internal IT roles with individuals who can also make critical business decisions, analysts say.

This means that managers and recruiters are looking for IT professionals with vertical-industry knowledge in areas like health care, insurance and government, as well as technology-specific skills such as cloud computing, software-as-a-service, security and virtualization. Government agencies and the health care sector will experience the greatest demands for high-tech talent in 2010, the article states.
