Devaney: New era in oversight with Recovery.gov

A special panel overseeing the government's economic stimulus spending will unveil on Sept. 28 a new version of the Recovery.gov Web site that will allow citizens to track recovery spending down to the zip code, contract and grant. In doing so, the so-called Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board will unleash a new era in government transparency that will change the way the federal government oversees spending across the board, said Earl Devaney, the board's chairman told a conference of the Association of Government Accountants on Wednesday.
