DHS, states work to create Virtual USA

A number of states are working with the Homeland Security Department on Virtual USA, a virtual national operations platform that would give first responders a real-time view of what's happening in the event of a crisis. DHS is conducting multiple pilots, and participants include Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Florida, Georgia and Virginia.
