Google's ties to Washington grow closer -- and more complicated

Google CEO Eric Schmidt is a member of President Obama's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Three other Google executives have left the firm to work in the administration, including the company's former head lobbyist Andrew McLaughlin, who will be the nation's deputy technology officer. Yet with the company's rapid growth and dominance in Internet search technology has come heightened scrutiny.
