Voter sites face privacy risk

States, counties and municipalities are making more information for voters available online through interactive Web sites, but election officials must strike a balance between convenience, privacy and functionality, the Election Assistance Commission said in a study. The commission published a set of best practices for voter information sites based on a 13-month study of hundreds of sites hosted in all 50 states.
