License-plate scanning catching crooks, raising privacy concerns
The Arizona Republic
In a state that routinely ranks among the top five in the United States in auto theft, the Arizona Department of Public Safety scanned more than 1.6 million license plates since introducing its first cameras in 2006 - leading directly to 122 felony arrests.
