It's time to stop using your pet's name.

With the recent Yahoo hack affecting 500 million user accounts, there's no better time to get serious about password security.

Try to change your account passwords on a regular basis, especially if you have a Yahoo account and the password associated with it is one you use on other sites. Don't forget to change security questions as well, as that information was also compromised in the breach.

So what should you look for in a new password? A complex combination of letters, numbers and symbols. Do not use anything like "123456" or "password." Password managers like LastPass can help you remember those new, complicated and more secure passwords.
