Chip Supplier ASML Downplays Recent Breach

Semiconductor machinery maker ASML says no valuable intellectual property was compromised during an IT system breach it is investigating.

But broadcaster Nos and tech website Tweakers on Feb. 28 said that Chinese authorities were behind the attack.

ASML declined to identify a suspect.

The firm said there was only a short amount of time between the hack and its discovery. Officials did not say when that span of time occurred.

There is no evidence that important company or customer files were accessed, ASML said.
