Federal 100: Carey Miller

Carey Miller
Technology Risk Director
Deloitte and Touche

Carey Miller played a key role in one of the most important cybersecurity activities of 2010: the development of the Homeland Security Department’s National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace.

She directed the team that supported DHS in developing the strategy, which paves the way for a framework for establishing confidence in who’s on the other end of any Internet connection. It aims to do so by adopting commercial, user-friendly and voluntary identity credentials to enable more secure and trustworthy online transactions while ensuring privacy.

Miller seamlessly linked complex work streams, provided outreach coordination and managed communications across multiple agencies. She worked with more than 70 stakeholder groups nationwide to aid in developing the strategy and its associated implementation road map.
