Marshals seek university for data training
While most of the personnel involved are based in Arlington, Va., the academic partner need not be close to the D.C. area.
WHAT: A request for information from the U.S. Marshals Service for a data-driven training partnership with an academic institution.
WHY: The USMS is looking to improve the people side of its data strategy equation.
The service issued a request earlier this month seeking input from academic institutions that could help the service "improve our ability to establish data governance and complement or enhance the skill sets needed to move forward with our initiatives."
The partnership would address three main areas: data analytics training for roughly 72 USMS personnel, an ongoing "knowledge consortium/reach-back" line of communication providing the USMS with continuous support, and an internship program.
While most of the personnel who would be included in the program are based out of the Arlington, Va., headquarters, the agency stressed in a Q&A that the academic partner need not be based to the D.C. area.
Prospective partners must have a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code and be registered with the System for Award Management, the USMS noted.
