Republican leaders intent on reforming the federal pay system reportedly have asked the Government Accountability Office to examine why various studies come to different conclusions on how federal pay stacks up against private-sector pay.

Republican leaders intent on reforming the federal pay system reportedly have asked the Government Accountability Office to examine why various studies come to different conclusions on how federal pay stacks up against private-sector pay.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Federal Workforce Subcommittee Chairman Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Fla., requested the study, according to Federal Times.

The two lawmakers also are asking GAO to examine the way the government determines General Schedule annual pay adjustments.
