Letter: Thumb drives are useless at VA

The device drivers don't load and everything at the department is connected via a network, so there is no need for thumb drives.

Regarding “VA buys 25K secure thumb drives,” the thumb drives don't work and the Office of Information Technology has no solution.

You can't use them at a non-Veterans Affairs Department computers because the device drivers don't load.

It sort of defeats the purpose as everything within VA is connected via a network and there is no need for a thumb drive inside the department.

VA has sent us back to the Stone Age. I will give my next presentation at the national meeting by holding up pieces of paper. Should make a good impression.
