Chertoff appoints Jamison to protection directorate, Mocny to US-VISIT

Homeland Security Department Secretary Michael Chertoff has appointed Robert Jamison deputy undersecretary of the National Protection and Programs Directorate and Robert Mocny as director of the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) program.

Jamison will help lead national efforts to protect critical infrastructure and improve the resiliency of essential cybersecurity and communications capabilities, Chertoff said.

Jamison has worked at the department since 2005 as deputy assistant secretary for the Transportation Security Administration.

Prior to joining DHS, Jamison worked at the Transportation Department from 2001 to 2005 in the department's railroad and transit administrations. He also spent 12 years at United Parcel Service, and was senior operations officer at the American Red Cross.

Mocny has been deputy director of US-VISIT and has recently served as the program's acting director.

Mocny has an impressive background on immigration and naturalization, DHS systems integration issues and is a valuable member of the DHS team, Chertoff said.

Mocny was a Federal Computer Week Federal 100 Award winner in 2006.
