The Senate confirmed David Safavian as administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. During his confirmation hearing, Safavian said improving recruitment and retention in the federal workforce would be one of his priorities.

Linda Springer, the Office of Management and Budget's controller, has resigned. There's no word on her next position.

Karl Reichelt, chief of staff and interim chief acquisition officer at the General Services Administration, has resigned and plans to head into the private sector.

Mike Singer, Adobe Systems' senior director of worldwide government e-paper solutions, is leaving to lead a major push by database administration vendor Embarcadero Technologies into the government market.

Tom Buchsbaum, vice president of Dell Federal Systems, announced his retirement effective in January 2005.
