CSC to meld tracking systems
The Army will pay $146 million for merging four systems that track cargo and vehicles.
The Army awarded a $146 million contract June 29 to Computer Sciences Corp. to merge four systems that track cargo and vehicles into one servicewide network.
CSC and its six-vendor team will perform configuration management, disaster recovery, help-desk support, integration, network implementation, network and enterprise systems management, software development, software and hardware maintenance, and training, according to a statement.
The Army's Transportation Information Systems' program consists of four networks:
Army Automated Airload Planning.
Transportation Information Systems-Theater Operations.
Transportation Coordinator Automated Command and Control Information System.
Transportation Coordinator Automated Information for Movement (TC-AIMS) II.
CSC and its industry team will also develop three more versions of TC-AIMS II. The system will combine the functions of the three other systems when fully developed and fielded, the statement said.
