Don't blame Bush for cuts

In regard to "Doing more with fewer feds" [FCW.com, Nov. 8], I notice that the author of this letter appears to be blaming President Bush for the cuts. I wonder where he/she was several years ago when the Clintons were heavily into the "outsource government jobs" mode?

Granted that many parts of our base have mandated staffing problems that impact other departments, but it has been that way for more than a year, longer than Bush has been president.

Regarding the 10 hours of overtime, that is nothing if you are an engineer working for a place like Motorola Inc., where friends of mine went to work. Of course they also get 30 percent more pay and real medical benefits, not the garbage civil service gets.
