My comments are concerning the 1107 job series, procurement technicians. This job series tops out at a Grade 7.

Every year our workload increases, and we are performing much Grade 12 work. Our agency -- Government Printing Office -- says that everything is decided at the Office of Personnel Management.

It is time for OPM to review the job requirements and give us parity for the work we perform. GPO does not give any incentive awards or quality increases; therefore, you can have an "outstanding" on your performance rating and receive no compensation for doing an excellent job, only a step increase every two to four years.

In our regional office, there is no upward mobility. I have been at the same job for 14 years. The only reason I have stayed so long is that I was assured that at some point in time, if I was patient, upward mobility would happen. Now I am 49 years old and stuck.

Could this issue be brought up some time in the future? Maybe OPM or GPO will listen.
