Researchers Programmed Robots to Look Out for Each Other

The two robots essentially share one brain.

About a year ago, a research team from Tufts University programmed a robot to defy orders if it deemed them unsafe. The tiny defiant robot was both adorable and slightly unnerving.

Now, there are two of them.

The same Tufts team has programmed two robots to essentially share one brain. In the video above, you can watch them give each other commands without talking. They also look out for one another: One robot will question a command that puts the other in danger.
