Google Shopping Express allows customers to browse stores on their website or apps, shop as they would on any other website, then select a delivery window which works best for them.

After launching Google Shopping Express in San Francisco last year, Google is expanding their program from same day delivery from select stores to West Los Angeles and Manhattan.

The announcement came on their blog this morning. Google Shopping Express allows customers to browse stores on their website or apps, shop as they would on any other website, then select a delivery window which works best for them. The program also allows shoppers to use their in-store rewards cards, coupons, or any other loyalty program they may have with the retailer.

Google assures customers "there are no surcharges or mark-ups, products cost exactly what they would in-store." A quick spot check of Manhattan retailers proves this is true — laundry detergent is still the $13-ish that it would be at the grocery store, it's just that now you don't have to lug it home yourself.

To onboard users, Google is offering a promotion of six months of unlimited free deliveries and a $10 credit. Of course, this promo will disappear eventually to be replaced by a delivery fee of around $4.99 per store. This means if your total order is from three stores, your delivery fee would be $14.97.

To use Google Shopping Express, you must have a Google Wallet Account. Google is pushing Google Wallet hard right now as well, so the launch of a more widespread same delivery service is unsurprising. Right now, the Los Angeles expansion covers Culver City, Inglewood, Marina Del Rey, Santa Monica, Venice, West Los Angeles, and Westwood.  Bel-Air, Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista and West Hollywood can expect to see the program soon. Brooklyn and Queens should also expect the program soon.

The stores Google Shopping Express covers include: CostcoGuitar Center,L’OccitaneSmart & FinalStaplesTargetToys“R”Us/Babies“R”UsWalgreens, andFairway Market.
