*** Cerner, whose electronic health record technology is being adopted at the Pentagon and by the Department of Veterans Affairs, has appointed a new CEO, Washington Technology reports. Former Google executive David Feinberg to succeed the retiring Brent Shafer on Oct. 1, the health IT firm said Thursday. Those two health record modernization projects account for more than $20 billion in contracts.

*** The National Nuclear Security Administration at the Department of Energy is taking steps toward a request for proposals on a five-year IT services blanket purchase agreement, according to contracting documents updated last week. Contracting intelligence firm Deltek estimates the ceiling value of the BPA at $360 million.
