*** The Government Accountability Office released its annual report on overlap and duplication in government. The watchdog reports that the federal government could save billions of dollars by addressing data management challenges and improving metrics when it comes to procurement of goods and services.

*** Democrats in the House and Senate reintroduced legislation to align locality pay for hourly and salaried workers. Currently there is a pay disparity that negatively affects hourly workers whose pay is not updated under locality pay provisions.

"Currently, salaried and hourly federal employees can work side-by-side in the exact same location yet be treated as though they work in different locations when it comes to determining their locality pay," Everett Kelley, national president of the American Federation of Government Employees, said in a statement supporting the legislation.
