*** The 2020 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) is being postponed because of the federal response to COVID-19. The survey is tentatively set to kick off July 13, according to an Office of Personnel Management memo.

*** A federal appeals court ruled on March 31 that the Department of Veterans Affairs had improperly employed a 2017 workforce law to fire pharmacy doctor Jeffrey Sayers. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal District found that the VA had retroactively applied the Department of Veterans Affairs Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act to Sayers’s case by punishing him for acts allegedly committed before the law took effect. Additionally, the court ruled that the proportionality of punishments doled under the law are reviewable by the Merit Systems Protection Board.
