*** Thirteen groups spanning the ideological spectrum are urging leaders in the House and Senate to hold hearings on major voting system vendors to find out whether a lack of oversight and regulation of the industry are impeding efforts to secure the 2020 elections. In a letter shared with FCW, the groups—including the National Election Defense Coalition, Project on Government Oversight and OSET Institute—cite a number of media reports detailing faulty security practices by voting system companies and ask the House Administration and Senate Rules and Administration Committees to more closely examine their practices.
