The Israel Defense Forces indicated that a cyberattack from Hamas directed at Israel had been thwarted before the airstrike. According to a report in ZDNet, the airstrike represents the first instance of a country directly responding to a cyberattack with a kinetic military strike.

*** Two Texas lawmakers are teaming up on a bill designed to improve technology at military installations with an eye to saving money and improving base security and quality of life for servicemembers. The Military Base Operations and Infrastructure Innovative Management Act sponsored by Reps. John Carter (R-Texas) and Filemon Vela (D-Texas) would establish a $15 million pilot program to bring news technologies into military installations.
