*** The Department of Veterans Affairs is looking to deal small business in on its $16 billion electronic health record modernization plan. According to a contracting notice, VA is planning an engagement event with small business to discuss potential opportunities for companies as VA moves from its homegrown electronic health records system to a commercial product led by Cerner.

*** Rep. John Katko (R-N.Y.) is proposing legislation to give outside cybersecurity advice to the newly formed Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. The Cybersecurity Advisory Committee Authorization Act of 2019, backed by Katko along with Reps. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.), Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) sets up an advisory committee from across stakeholder sectors to worth with CISA.

"By creating a Cybersecurity Advisory Committee, we can facilitate a vital dialogue between public and private partners and better secure the U.S.," Katko said in a statement.
