Federal 100: Sen. Mark Warner

Name: Sen. Mark Warner
Agency: U.S. Senate
Technology champion. The first-term senator from Virginia has deep roots in the federal IT community. When Warner was governor, he urged technology companies to settle in the state by supporting the infrastructure they needed to thrive. In 2013, he introduced the bipartisan Digital Accountability and Transparency Act in the Senate and helped guide it to committee approval. In response to reports that the Office of Management and Budget might try to soften some of the bill's stricter compliance provisions, Warner said, "I will not back down from a bill that holds the government accountable and provides taxpayers the transparency they deserve."
