Shocking: Defense, VA Still Lack Joint e-Health Record System

This is a dog bites man item:

The Government Accountability Office released yet another report on Wednesday saying the Defense Department and the Veterans Affairs Department still are a long way from the development of a common electronic health record system.

GAO said the two departments don't have any explicit plans, goals, or timeframes for creating such a system -- a sad tale that goes on for 78 pages.

This is an even sadder tale when you consider that Congress has been pushing a common or joint health record system for more than a decade.

Who do you blame? Not the VA.
