GPS units help officers monitor parolees

Fifty parole board officers are using GPS technology to keep tabs on about 230 of New Jersey's worst sex offenders -- those considered most likely to repeat their crimes. It's a program that combines the low-tech -- face-to-face home visits by parole officers -- with the high-tech -- computer programs that time stamp parolees' movements 24 hours a day.
