Possibly 4,000 wallets emptied after hack of Czech bitcoin exchange

The website Bitcash.cz, which places trades in the Czech Republic, says its security system was broken and it has filed a legal complaint against the unknown attackers.  

It is unclear how many bitcoins vanished, but, according to regional reports, 4,000 users of the digital dough might have been robbed.

The site, as of Nov. 13, was replaced with the message:

"Server Bitcash.cz was attacked by hackers. On 11.11. in the evening it was broken by server security and thefts to Bitcoin wallets resulted. Unfortunately, the nightmare became reality. We will keep you informed.

"Due to the ongoing investigation, we cannot further comment on specific questions about the attack.

As soon as circumstances permit us, we will publish more information... Thanks to all who despite the loss posted messages expressing support us."
