State Awards $150M Desktop PC Deal to Nine Small Firms

Contracts are part of a global IT modernization program.

As part of a global information technology upgrade, the State Department on Friday awarded nine small businesses contracts for the purchase of up to 22,250 desktop computers.

The indefinite–delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts last five years and cover the purchase of up to 20,226 PCs with eight gigabytes of memory and fixed hard drives, and 2,024 PCS with removable hard drives. The contracts also include the purchase of up to 15,445 twenty-two inch color monitors; 3,036 removable hard drives; readers for public key infrastructure smart cards; and network cards.

State awarded the desktop PC contracts to: FCN Inc., Iron Bow Technologies, JC Technology, Meadowgate Technologies, Mercom Inc., NCS Technologies, Microtechnologies LLC, Red River Computer Co. and Sterling Computer Corp.
