Code for America Releases Call for Proposals for Its 2019 Summit

In the civic tech community, Code for America’s annual summit is an important gathering to learn from and interact with the best and brightest in the world of government technology. This week, the San Francisco-based organization released its call for proposals for the 2019 summit, which is scheduled for May 29-31 in Oakland, California.
Interested in pitching an idea or proposal for the 2019 summit? Code for America is looking for proposals that “will connect peers in government and technology and focus on four big problems.”
- Digital service delivery with users at the center.
- Making sense of disruptive technology.
- Focusing on delivery with policy and technology at the table.
- Shaping the technology landscape for better outcomes for everyone.
Additionally, the organization offered an early preview of the three tracks at the 2019 summit:
- Digital Delivery: The process, practices and tools required by cross-disciplinary teams across government and beyond, to deliver digital services meeting user needs.
- Civic Innovation: How do we improve and make use of new ways of engaging with and meeting the expectations of citizens? How have disruptive, early-stage technologies been used to meet user needs? How do we balance privacy and meeting user needs when dealing with data?
- GovOps: How do we transform the processes, people and culture working in and around government? What are the principles and practices that are making progress in dealing with operational issues such as procurement, security, talent, and culture?
