A handful of people have weighed in so far on bipartisan legislation to reform how the government purchases information technology.
Nextgov is hosting an interactive version of the Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act developed by the office of Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif. Issa, who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, is sponsoring FITARA along with Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va. Connolly is ranking member on oversight’s government operations panel.
Among the people who have weighed in on the legislation are “Prof. Samuel D.B.,” who is concerned flaws in government data will limit the value of strategic sourcing and other initiatives, and Christopher H., who said government can’t reasonably be expected to produce a private sector style balance sheet.
The reform act passed the oversight committee March 20 and is awaiting consideration by the full House.
